Choice is a Quiet Power

Each day I am faced with countless choices—some small, others big. But at the core, the power of choice is a reminder that my life is shaped by intention, not circumstance. I get to choose how I respond, how I perceive, and how I move forward.

I don’t get to control everything; life has its own rhythm—a rhythm I can’t always be directed.  The unexpected will always find its way into my plans—the obstacles, the setbacks, the unexpected turn of events, and the uncharted detours. Yet even in these moments, I get to choose: to face each challenge with resilience, to learn from my missteps and shortcomings, to adapt and grow rather than give up.

I get to choose kindness when impatience tempts me. I get to choose gratitude when doubt clouds my perspective. I get to choose forgiveness—not just for others, but for myself when I fall short of my expectations. And perhaps most importantly, I get to choose joy—not as a denial of hardship, but as an act of courage and defiance in a complicated world.

Choice is a quiet power—a gentle persistent reminder that while I can’t dictate the course of life, I can choose the steps I take within it. I get to choose to act with intention and take ownership of the choices, I make.  I stay mindful that each choice I make weaves the fabric of my journey, serving as a reflection of my values, my principles and the vision I hold for my future self.
